The band offers a variety of courses to entice all interests and abilities. Don’t miss this opportunity to sharpen your skills for the competition season with the area’s top pipe band!
The Band
The Oran Mor Pipe Band, based in Albany, NY, was originally formed in the fall of 1992 as a place where members could focus on competitive efforts and improvement. Since that time, the band enjoyed a few successful years in grade 3 and was promoted to grade 2 for the 1998 season. The band worked hard for ten years to climb towards the top of grade 2, including yearly travel to the World Pipe Band Championships beginning in 2004. At the end of 2007, under the leadership of PM Donald Lindsay, PS Andrew Douglas, and LD Eric MacNeill, the band was upgraded to Grade 1 by the EUSPBA.
