“ANDREW DOUGLAS PIPE SERGEANT FOR 2008:
The band would like to publicly welcome Andrew Douglas back to the band. Andrew played with the band in the earlier years from 1994 through the 2001 season. He has played with the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band from 2002 until 2007. Andrew has returned to the band for the 2008 season as the new Pipe Sergeant of the band.

December 2007:
ORAN MOR PIPE BAND OFFICIALLY UPGRADED TO GRADE 1

Following a very successful 2007 season and a large influx of new players, the band has been regraded to the premiere grade, making it only the third active grade 1 band in the USA.

November 2007:

The band finished off the 2007 season with a victory at the Celtic Classic invitational contest in Bethlehem, PA at the end of September.

The band was recently announced as the EUSPBA grade 2 2007 overall season champions!


ORAN MOR PIPE BAND RETURNS FROM SUCCESSFUL TRAVEL TO SCOTLAND

The Oran Mor Pipe Band has returned from its most successful journey to Scotland since the band first traveled to the World Pipe Band Championships in 2004. In rain-soaked conditions, the band was victorious at the Bridge of Allan Games, defeating 12 other bands and winning the Royal Bank of Scotland trophy. Second place was won by the Band Club from Australia. After a week of preparation, Oran Mor made its mark at the World’s. In equally miserable conditions, the band once again edged the Band Club into second place and won the grade II qualifying heat. The band joined 11 other bands for the final round and were placed 7th overall. The band is proud of its success and offers hearty congratulations to this year’s champions, the Cullybackey Pipe Band, of Northern Ireland.

*Kegan Sheehan: First Place at the Nicol-Brown Invitational and Third Place at the
George Sheriff Invitational.
*Eric MacNeill: Ninth Place finish in the Semi-Finals at the World Solos and Third Place in the
US Gold Medal in Kansas City.
*Eric Ouellette: Congratulations on being accepted to the Silver Medal this August!
*Wes Cole: Second Place finish in the Grade 1 snare drumming at Kansas City.
*David Peters: Sixth Place finish in the Robert Gilchrist Challenge.

August, 2006
Oran Mor Pipe Band puts out a strong performance at Bridge of Allan and World Championships.
The band had a great trip to Scotland, putting out two strong performances at Bridge of Allan and at the World Pipe Band Championships.
Planning is already underway for improvements for 2007!

Oran Mor wins at Capital District: EUSPBA Grade 2 CHAMPIONS!
At the Capital District games on Labor Day weekend, the band was first on Saturday and also on Sunday at the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association grade 2 Championships! The band is looking forward to a strong finish at the Celtic Classic September 23rd and 24th!

July, 2006:
Oran Mor will play 10th out of 23 grade 2 bands at the Bridge of Allan Games, in Scotland on Sunday August 6th. For the World Pipe Band Championships, the band will play 10th out of 20 bands in the first qualifier heat.

Oran Mor Wins Glasgowlands and Rockland Contests!

Oran Mor finished in first place in the MSR contest at Glasgowlands and in the medley contest
at Rockland County on July 15th and 16th. The weekend was a strong step in the bands preparation for the World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland on August 12th.
Oran Mor were also best drum corps at Rockland County.

*June, 2006: Oran Mor off to a strong season start!

After an off season of hard work, the Oran Mor Pipe Band made a strong showing at its first outdoor contest at the Veterans Memorial Highland Games, in Spencerville, ON, June 17th. The played very well against strong competition finishing first in the Medley, first in the MSR, first in piping, first in drumming, and first in ensemble.

Several soloists in the band also made strong showings at games. The band is continuing its focus on improvement over the next month as it works towards the World Pipe Band Championships in August.t

Oran Mor—looking stronger then ever before—will make its debut at the World Pipe Band Championships in August 2004.
The band is looking forward to this opportunity to face off against top pipe bands from around the world.
We hope this trip will be the first of many!

* New Kilts, Different Tartan for 2004 (4/5/04)
After years sporting the familiar Black Watch tartan, Oran Mor is making a change to the band uniform. As of May 2004, the band’s kilts (brand new and custom-made) will be in the distinctive Red Robertson Weathered Reproduction tartan.
* Oran Mor Named 2003 EUSPBA Champions (4/5/04)
For the fifth time since entering Grade II in 1997, Oran Mor has captured the title of Eastern United States Pipe Band Association Champions Supreme. We congratulate our co-titlists, the Saffron United Pipe Band, on our shared victory.
